Basic Training Centre Rangia was established in the year 1954 in Kamrup (R), Gogmalsha village Mauza: Panduri in Rangia Town. This institution has been serving all types of quality base training of Lower and Upper primary school teachers of every corner of state since its establishment. The main objectives behind formation was to build up Gandhiji's basic education or skill base quality education right from grass root level i.e. elementary level.
The main motto o institute is to provide quality education and academic as well as resource support at grassroot level for sustainable development of universalization of education. This institute provide various need based and quality based education and training for in-service and preservice teachers. This institute conduct various awareness programme related to MHRD,SSA, SCERT etc. According to NEP2020

NCTE recognized his institute for conducting two years D.El.Ed. courses with an annual intake capacity of 50, from the academic session of 2016-16. in 2017 Basic Training Centre was upgraded to BITE(Block Institute of Teacher Education) which is centraly sponsored scheme of teacher education and this institution is the only BITE in whole Assam. The BITE shell be pre-service and in-service elementary teacher education institute . BITE would be established in the block having the highest concentration of SC/ST/minority areas.
